Not IRL but in the Sims 2
I decided to take on the challenge levelled by someone here and build a
"house in the sky". I've got two floors (apart from the non-existent ground
floor). I built an elevator on the terrain. On the first floor I cannot
place an elevator directly on top of the one on the level below. The sims I
have just moved in keep shaking their heads and not going upstairs.
I thought this may be due to the elevator being placed on terrain rather
than flooring so decided to build another one from floor 1 to floor 2 (I'm
being northern European here and counting ground, 1, 2, etc. Or maybe it's
just a trait native to the country I come from...). Still a no-go zone. It
just won't build an elevator directly above.
Is this because the elevator is in the middle of the floor and not against a
wall (I figured it would look more "natural" to have a "supporting
structure" in the middle rather than at the edge of a dwelling)? Or just a
buggy lot? Should I just give up and build a stairway to heaven instead of
an elevator?
