Which is why digital downloads aren't going to kill HD-DVD or
Blu-Ray...
It comes down to what I said before... Americans, as a rule, are very
much "instant gratification" centric. They aren't going to go "Hey,
I'll start this download so I can watch it tomorrow..."

No, they probably won't kill the movie formats. Television might feel
the sting though. The movie downloads in HD are way too big and would
take forever, but the TV shows in HD are only a gig or more. That
wouldn't take but a few mins to download, and the cost is only around
$1-$3 at the most.
I can't say I'd pay that much for very many of them since I already
have cable, but if I missed an episode of a show or something it'd be
nice to get it on XBL in HD for only a couple bucks.
That's about all I can see myself downloading so far except maybe the
free trailers and stuff. Although on about 3 of my downloads I kept
getting different television show clips instead of the movie trailers I
wanted. 2 of them were both Dave Chappele doing a Sam Jackson beer
commercial.
