It's weird when you partially remember a dream or images from a dream from
long ago. Since it's a dream, it can seem very real but at the same time
be impossible to place until you remember it was a dream.

Oh well, at least it wasn't one of the "I've been shot" dreams I've had
for a few days now. Too much S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?

If you had to choose one or the other as your personal sidearm, would you
pick a S&W .44 revolver or a Colt .45 model 1911? I spent an hour or two
(seemingly) trying to decide while hordes of apocalypse survivors or maybe
zombies tried to breach the gun shop I was in (in a dream a few days ago.)

Maybe just a Kriss Super V with a Gemtech suppressor?

It hurts a lot getting shot in the cheekbone. Ouchie.

This is what I'd use. It might tickle a bit getting shot with it.

In last week's episode (or maybe two weeks ago) of Bones, Bones pulled out
one of the X Frames in a chase scene. After firing it once she traded it
to Angel saying it was too big. Smile

The goal isn't to have as large a handgun as possible, but to have one
that is very reliable and which also uses a large enough calibur to
provide significant knock-down ability. None of this 9mm stuff.

But that last one would have been perfect for Sledge Hammer. If he
could make a "loudener" for it. Smile

You like those service .45 type weapons don't you?
I remember my dad telling me about when he was assigned to Burma in WW
II as a crew chief on an Army Air Corps base (he repaired P40s and
cargo planes) and they had this big table set out where you could pick
your own weapon. Since they were so mass=produced he said there was a
large variety of quality. You had to pick each one up and shake it to
find ones that didn't rattle. The ones they had were not riifled and
the slug just tumbled out and had very poor accuracy but massive
stopping power at close range. In fact one of his buddies killed a
bear with one. He just had to wait until it got 10 feet away from him
to fire. Blew it over backwards.

A little old .45 brought down a bear that easily? Dem things is hard
to stop. (Um, not that I've ever had the opportunity. The closest I
got to a bear is one that tried to crawl on the car at Yellowstone.)

Or may a better question. The guy had the guts to let the bear get
that close before shooting? Smile
