Mmm, I meant they don't tend to help with careers, or "max all 7 skills".
Maybe I should have said obvious points. They are a bit like novel writing
progress - but I have a hack for that.

I know what you mean about the reduction in challenge, though that depends
on what you want to do with your Sims. I don't like to hack to achieve
their goals, so while for example I have a casual romance thing, I don't use
it for Romance Sims on their way to 20 lovers, more as a means to an end for
what *I* want.

But lot debuggers and fixes for things that go wrong in the game, and hacks
that stop behaviours than annoy me, that's different. It doesn't change the
challenge of the game to be able to stop the darn phone ringing for a sim
hour and a half while they all eat dinner.

I don't know if the hacks actually cause a heap of oter bugs, or if we just
blame them first. At least it's easy enough to remove a folder of hacks and
see if things improve. But I have more problems with objects.

Well said. I see a lot of discussion about this cheat or that hack,
and I wonder: what's the point of playing then?

Not everyone who plays The Sims is playing a proper "game" - some are
storytellers who are just pretending for a while, others are builders or
creators using The Sims as a medium, and some just like to experiment and
see "what will happen if..." and playing for the fun of it.

What makes this game the greatest, is that those of us who don't like to be
told what to do can play for their own reasons and not be left out of it.

Everyone is different i suppose.
Myself.. i love S2- but on the same note, there is plenty i do miss
about S1. So there are likely other folks who feel the same way.

Speaking of "Dis graw is fredeshay" (a phrase i miss hearing in S2 BTW)
today is the birthday of the lady who created the "Dis Graw" phrase
among other Simmish, Gerri Lawlor! She is a close personal friend of
mine and today is her 37th Birthday. I just left her a little voice
mail and sang to her. Will likely see her by this weekend too.
At least i dont make her say Sim-like things to me like i used to when
Sims were brand new LOL. Now, only if we've had a few too many
cocktails and it all starts to sound Simmish anyhow.
Happy Birthday Miss Gerri!

Cheers,
Eddie

I suppose that would depend on the player. If the point is to have fun
(which I think is the whole point of ANY game -- otherwise we'd all be
spending our computer time on spreadsheets and databases!) then I for
one appreciate the work that goes into the hacks I use that allow me to
play the way I want to. Otherwise, to me, the game would be boring as
all get out. Have babies, teach them skills, go to work, get
promotions, retire and die. Too much like life for me. <g> I like
jazzing it up a little, telling stories without worrying about hours of
boring gameplay. As I said, YMMV.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can barely hear them now!
I've tried tweaking the audio options every whichaways, but they still
get drowned out by flushing toilets, the radio and the food processor.
They don't seem to enunciate as much in this game, either. They seem to
be mumbling more than anything. At least that's how it seems to me.

I can hear them just fine, but I will say the music is so loud in this
new game, compared to everything else. At least, the music they give
you is. I've also imported some of my own music into the radio stations
they that music is noticibly softer. Rather annoying.

Well, yeah, I miss them, but the new game has more dialogue, so they
don't repeat. Seemed like the old game had about eight phrases that
were recycled over and over. That's why the women alway seemed to be
talking about their French bras. The new conversation seems more
realistic to me.

I'm not sure if the drug anaolgy is appropriate. It's the University
term final exam hack of which I think first. My game had the graduation
bug for a while. I played through a full semester(two terms) at triple
speed in about five minutes to see if the taxi would finally arrive. It
didn't but the game played itself perfectly. All of the students passed
A+ while I merely clicked "No" so and so cannot come to the phone and
to hell with the bill collector. How does the hack improve upon this?
What am I not seeing? Where is the "high"?

I really do not understand

As you might have gathered I am a monumental anally retentive
micromanger a mes Sims. This is a role to which I can only dream of in
real life while keeping my tires unslashed and my other property and
person relatively free from vandals. On limited occasions I do allow
the Jeanie freestyle. My lone zombie, Korey Hanby, is married to Tri
Var alumnist Brittney Upsnott. After OFB was installed Sir-Brics-A-Lot
began to appear. The Hanbys had one which was allocated to the basement
pending renovations. Their daughter headed downstairs to play with it
one day. Never seeing Sir Brics used I decided to see what the
attraction was. She patted it. It was a major non-event until I checked
upstairs. Brittney was on her way to work. She was now wearing a
ridiculous but outrageously funny clown outfit as she rushed down the
stairs to catch her ride. Huge red shoes, striped knee socks, green
coveralls with a yellow shirt and white gloves. Her head was encased in
a giant box of standing fries with her face poking out of the front.
When she returned after work her workmate was identically dressed.
They, Jaqueline Landgraab nee Burb was the workmate, remained thus
garbed until showering. I did not get to the Landgraab lot for a while.

Altering my usual style resulted in an unexpected payoff. I am not sure
what the trigger was. She might have been in or leaving the shower at
the exact right moment.

I do not pretend to be the arbiter of all that is good or bad in Sims2.
I use the money order hack. There are holes in the game that appear
deliberate to garner future revenue. My objection is the promise of
panacea. Jeanie, your game is a very advanced, (st)ripped rail build
for speed suited very well to your gaming needs. New players should get
a feel for the game before plunging headlong down that path.

Otherwise, to me, the game would be boring as
> all get out. Have babies, teach them skills, go to work, get

I always thought they were saying, "This bra is funny shaped." Made me

Uhm, just make the music less loud using the sound settings, where's the
