ROFL! Ahh- just the visual alone of that is more funny that you can
know. If you go to Google and put her name in and do an image search
there are some really funny pics of her as well as links to some of her
other projects.
Hmm.. she would if she could... throw fireworks that is. Not here
though.. my apartment isn't that big and i don't want to clean
fireworks soot off my my white walls. She can twirl though.
My partner Gary has known her ever since she was a little girl and he
taught her in childrens theatre. He said to her when they first met
"You're a very strange little girl" and she smiled and giggled at him-
she loved that! And they have been friends for about 30 years now
since. I've been with Gary for almost 10 years now.. so that's about
how long i've known her. She never fails to leave us cracking up during
her visits and is always "performing".. sometimes even when you don't
want her to be LOL
I will pass on your Birthday wishes to her.. and i'm sure she would say
some sort of Simmish Thank you.
Cheers,

Making friends isn't too hard in Sims2, I think. The University EP kind
of screwed things up when it introduced pranks. It throws off your
friend-making when some sim autonomously farts on your sim while they
are trying to chat. <g> I really like the "Hang Out" option for young
adults and teens -- it really speeds up making friends and they often do
that on their own, which is rather nice. OFB brought that option to
adults, too, and I've found it is an excellent way for parents to "get
to know" their troubled teens. It's kind of sweet seeing them hanging
out together under a tree in the yard while Dad grills ribs. Again,
hacks and mods are almost mandatory for me, to get rid of the autonomous
pranking.

That's true, too, but I've found that without a hack that either reduces
homework (homeworkfastersometimesfun) or allows a good student to
actually gain skill points from it (which is only logical to me), I
don't have enough time to gain skill points if the teens and kids are to
have any sort of social life at all.

I feel the same way. I don`t think we`re getting older though. Games are
supposed to be fun. I play Sims, Football Manager (Champ. Manager before
that) and other games. The games are more complex, wich takes the fun away
and add seriousness instead.
I still play Sims 1 and Championship Manager 4 instead of Sims 2 or
Football Manager 2006. I love it simple...

There are cheats you can type in that accomplish what you are looking
for, I think. They came with Nightlife, so you'd have to have that
expansion pack installed.
"aspirationLevel (#)" with 0 being the lowest and 5 being platinum
"lockAspiration on" freezes aspiration decay for all Sims on the lot
I don't know if those can be included in your userstartup.cheat in My
Documents/EA Games/The Sims2/Config. But I suppose you could always
give it a try. That way, you wouldn't have to keep typing it in
everytime you enter a lot.
The wants will still roll, but it won't matter if you fulfill them or
not. Also, the LotDebugger hack has an option to tick the Lifetime Want
as fulfilled for any sim who is active when you choose it. That is
permanent for that sim. I can't remember right off the top of my head
where that particular hack can be downloaded, but I'll bet Maxon knows
and will tell you. I knew it yesterday, but I've slept since then. <g>

Pretty easy, it's was Sims 1 I meant was harder.

Agreed, I don't mind when I choose them to do it, but not when they do it
like that.
I love the Hang out thing. I spent a long time hoping it would get
extended, just wish they could do it on the sofa!

I don't worry too much about a social life, beyond any friends they bring
home, and family. There's things like chess they can do with their friends.
And pool and dancing might not have points but they can lead to
scholarships. But my favourite little sims have had the chance as a
toddler to rack up about 15 skill points, maybe a couple less if I stick to
the bunny and get charisma high, and grow up Friday evening to child, and
spend the weekend with their head in a book. They can have all week off
after that, apart from chess and painting if they want to do it, and they
often choose to. The teens, depends on their aspirations and wants really.
I don't work them too hard, just point them in the right directions.

There are many mods that help you raise aspiration or even make it static

Thanks for all the great suggestions, Jeanie! I was unaware of some
of the hacks you mentioned (I am one of those people who has
absolutely NO problem with using hacks in the Sims - I used plenty of
them in Sims 1) and I had forgotten the others. I just downloaded
them and I'm going to go check out the Harry Potter stuff you
mentioned.
Thanks again!!

For me "winning" is giving my Sim(s) truly cooking power days,
hopefully for days on end. ie hopping out of bed then teaching the
toddler to walk and talk for full aspiration points all around before
rushing out the door to catch the carpool at the last second on the way
to that final promotion to permaplat.

Less challenge, less satisfaction. Also, the game is buggier than the
Everglades without importing new conflicting permutations. A largish
part of the posts here relate to problems caused by hacks. Thanks, but
no thanks.

I think that's the big difference between TS1 and TS2 - you can't
simply plan short term and muddle about greening whichever bar is
lowest, but have to plan long term and have goals.

Three expansions to date for TS2 and one planned - two unique to TS2,
and two recreating some of the best parts of TS1. Not a bad track

I have decided I'm going to buy all EPs with S2. Otherwise you get into
the frustrating position where you want a hack or some recolored object,
but you must have a certain EP to make it work and you don't. So
rather than worry about what I have and don't have, I decided I'll just
take everything.
Still, the way this game is becoming overly complicated is starting to
annoy me. I'm too busy looking at the enormous control panel of wants,
needs and aspirations to enjoy just playing the game. I feel like I'm
minding the autopilot of a 747 jumbo jet sometimes.
