WAS?!? Was nothing! It IS a neat game.

If you've played the whole game (possibly many, many times, like
myself), I suggest finding one of the item mods that change so much. I
know there's one out there that changes item values and ammo quantities,
and the effects of some drugs. It may not seem like much, but it really
alters the gameplay substantially. Give it a try, if you're bored.
