So far there's gangs who are like rap and hip hop oriented. "South Side
Hoods" from Liberty City
and in San Andreas there's the green and purple colored gang.
Then there's mobsters and other organized crimes.

There should be some gangs that are punk rock oriented.
Would today's punk rock be drum and base? (example: MSX FM Liberty City)

Would the next Grand Theft Auto be Tokyo 2010?

It'll be based round Liverpool and feature the Pikeys and the Chavs.
You will spend the game boosting cars and trying to cadge a tab off
anyone you pass. In your safe house you will spend your day
downloading copies of games and burning them to dvd to play in your
chipped games machine, at night you will get pissed, set things on
fire and burgle old people's housing. You may mug old ladies of their
fish supper or sit on a wall outside an offy drinking cheap booze and
offending people as a sideline.

Instead of a camera you will make happy slapping videos with your
camera-phone.

Oh yeah, and the police will generally ignore you until the press make
them feel guilty enough.

Sounds like a fun game.

Will they feature a loose pitbull, that will bite little childrens
throats as well? Ah no, forgot it's Rockstar. No animals, no children.
Too bad.

Well then, soccer hooligans perhaps?

without doubt. You could throttle people with your scarf! Purchase
bover boots from the clothing store. Shame about the pitbull, a
necessary evil for the characters we are discussing.

There was this one a while back:
http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=RM0571

The bloke in the middle looks disturbingly like me, although I don't wear
boob tubes. I'm not particularly violent either, but I do blame GTASA for
encouraging me to take up Thai boxing for real. Aside from having bare feet
rather than wearing boxing boots, the moves in the Below the Belt gym are
pretty accurate.

Not strictly a London thing, I'd say it's more of an Essex or Kent
thing (Although that said, there were a lot of problems on Mitcham
Common last year with squatting gipsies).

I agree with you there. A friend of mine from nearby Epsom went up to
Liverpool for a gig and got talking to some local lads. When he
mentioned that Epsom was 'near London' he got called a "Cockney
Wanker". Ignorance is bliss it seems, no wonder everyone's so happy.

I blame the street planners. Just about every town in the country looks
the same and the locals are evolving to suit it.

Now *that* sounds like fun!

On a similar note; given the recent trend for games based on famous
films (The Godfather, Scarface, etc.), how about Newcastle-based 'Get
Carter'? This would probably be the first videogame based on a film
where the protagonist dies....

Cheers,
Rob

Come to think of it, I might have a bash at Carmageddon in the morning.
Carmageddon for the PSone was pretty strange, after a while the levels
loop so there's no discernible end to the bloody thing!

I want to see Shameless the video game.
That would be quite a decent effort. Or if you want to stick with the
Liverpool theme, how about Brookside Most Wanted?
How about GTA: ICF. Travel the length and breadth of England as part of West
Ham's infamous hooligan following.
I draw the line at My Hero though!

If we do brookie do we get to bury someone under the patio? Jees, i
only recall like three things from the prog, one was the body under
the patio which i didn't see and the other two involved people on top
of things... a lad on a telephone box and a bloke on top of a school
building I think?
