how can they do ?

I recently tried to play on the Internet, and I was curious to see how good
or bad I was at this game with real opponents.

After many races, seeing that I always finished far behind all other cars, I
wondered how they could manage to keep such a speed all the time. Did they
breathe in extra No² before starting ?
My car is a Lamborghini, with maximum performances.
when looking at opponents cars features, some of them show only 50%.

Do they cheat or did I miss something ?
I have finished the game, without cheating, so I consider that I can drive
in this game.
Even if I'm not a champion, I could at least reach their speed, when using
full No².

They cheated with trainers that turned on infinite Nitro and such.
