Wrong, it will work with the code that came with the game.

You should uninstall Uni before you give it away.

I don't think it asks for the disks if you uninstall and leaving it on
your computer certainly won't hurt anything. But if you ever have to
reinstall everything, you won't have it to put back on there. Even if
you didn't like playing it, you might have become kind of used to having
some of the objects and cheats that it had.
