Did darth Vader have armour?

I read jedis cannot wear Armour, so just a question, i know Darth Vader needed his suit to survive, but was it armour, id like to have a dark jedi that could wear some kind of Armour or cybernetic enchantment instead of just the cloak, its cool in the begining, but to be able to wear some kind of armour for jedis would be neat no?
