What parts of what Original Sims expansion packs would you like to see added
to the Sims2 and why? Again there are no right or wrong answers, just
opinions.

Magic,
Did Sims1 have real weather? I would really like to have seasons, like
in SimCity.

I don't think there was weather per se. Sims Vacation had Vacation Island
that had hot, medium, and cold zones but that's about it. If any of you have
already read my "The Sims2: Down on the Farm" post, then you know what part
of Unleashed/Makin' Magic I want to se revived. Seasons would be a good idea
along with seasonal clothing (enough of this "it's summer all year 'round"
look).

No, it didn't but there was a hack that added weather to the game. With the Makin'
magic expansion you could also have some rain.

Pets will give me one of the two things I miss the most, animals. I also
like gardening and/or farming. With the harvestable crops from TSR, that's
possible now, though it would be nice to have in the game without having to
download it somewhere. Magic was cool. We can do pretty much everything
else already, even make a "vacation" neighborhood and attach it as either a
shopping district or a downtown. Parties are already there, too, as was
woohoo from the very start. I never played the Superstar EP, so I don't
miss that at all, never liked it in the first place. I'd like to see
weather. I know it's in the game already because some have hacked into it
and you can download weather controllers, but I haven't done it yet. I keep
thinking it's going to be part of an expansion pack pretty soon.

I miss the baking from Makin' Magic. And the magic. And the magic duels.

You can still bake, though. You just don't have to go all over the place
hunting down ingredients anymore. LOL I liked making wine and having the
garden gnomes get tanked.

Well it looks like there will be seasons/weather in the fifth expansion
pack! Ooh-Rah! I still would like to see a return of farming but with the
inclusion of raising livestock to either "yeild" them (for milk/eggs) or
"take to market" (for meat). I would also like to see cooking include
ingredients so that certain dishes can't be make of one doesn't have them
(if one doesn't have any lobsters, how can one make "Lobster Thermidor"?).
On to other "revised expansion packs! Vacation: have Vacation Island
include hunting and fishing expeditions. Superstar: have the celebrities be
interactable (makes friends with, et cetera), have a "talk show" set that
could help raise (or lower if the interview goes bad) a sim's "star value".
Include the "comic" profession and get awrded according for good work. Have
more "forgiving" performances when your sims have more star power
(simulating your celeb sim having more creative control).

Also it looks like the next expansion can allow one to grow seasonal fruit.
I'd still like to see livestock raising though.

I'll revive this post and see if anyone wants to chime in on future things
that they'd like to see from old expansion packs. I don't think that the
raising livestock idea would go over because it would be too "controversial"
(although it's just a fact of life) I still stick to my other ideas though.

I liked the quest aspect of Makin' Magic, and I'd like to see that
brought back. Preferably it would be really user-customizable, and we
could all make quests for various nefarious purposes. Smile

I still would like to do some farming. If we (Sims) can now grow
our (their) own fruits and veggies, it would be a good challenge to
run a farm; dairy cows, or to sell for beef, pigs, chickens horses,
etc. Skillsor badges could be awarded for horse-back riding, taming
horses, and so on.

The reason I said that the raising livestock idea would be too contriversial
is because of some tofu fartin' PETA nut would want to see EA games burned
down to the ground for "contributing to the cruelty of animals". I'm not
saying that everyone at PETA is evil but you always have a few radicals that
make the decent people look bad.
