This is my third win now. My impression of this game is that this is a
great race\class combo. The poison of the VM is more effective because
you can safely outrun the poisoned monster that is chasing you. It
will die without touching you usually.
Some nice things were gaining a mutation that let me eat meat,
basically giving me 'gourmand' eating rights. On top of that,
Spriggans have naturally slow digestion so they need to eat less
anyway. Throw a staff of energy on top of that, and at endgame, I had
my first ever Crystal Spear casting magic user. He could fire dozens
of Crystal Spears without getting hungry. I can see what all the hype
is about now, this spell dominated the rest of the game.
Spriggans are also nice in the endgame because they are tough by then,
but still faster than most all opponents. If I needed more speed, I
had a wand of hasting that was enchanted up to 24 charges *twice*. I
didnt even need to learn haste.
A bad point was the lack of a robe of resistance. I did the whole game
with never more that 1 resistance to fire and water - it was one or the
other, and only 1 level of resistance like that.
It didnt end up mattering because I played careful enough to survive.
Oh yes, and the last messages are pretty cool too.
