I've never taken the controller apart since having bought the PS2. The
buttons move freely and don't seem to be stuck. I've made sure that
the controller is firmly inserted into the front of the box. I could
try to borrow a controller from some one, but it does seem that my
controller has just unexpectedly stopped working. I had wanted to
avoid having to get another controller, but having experienced the
same problem with the function buttons not working on GTA III, GTA: VC
and GTA: SA as well as a non GTA game it has to be that part of the
controller that just doesn't work anymore. Interestingly though, I can
skip the rockstar logo animation at game load by pressing X. I can
skip the GTA stories by pressing X, but that's about it.
