Hi - I have been playing AOK TC for a couple of years and
it has always worked fine. I recently installed a new
graphics card (Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128mb) and upgraded
the memory to 516mb.

Ever since, the game crashes back to the desktop after
about 10 minutes. The music keeps playing, but according
to task manager, the game is not running.

My DX diag can't find any problems:

Hi Rhws,

Your DX diagnostics did indeed find a problem. Here it is:
Sound Tab 1: The file ALCXWDM.SYS is not
digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested
by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You
may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware
manufacturer

Update your sound card drivers Rhws. Smile

It sounds like a driver problem. Go to your parts
companies websites (huray for google.com) and get the
latest drivers.

Also, no offence to anyone, but if we waited for
Microsoft to "certify" the drivers, we'd all be on 286s
with onboard ATIs and 1kb of ram. I don't know how
the "certfication" thing works, but you have to mash past
the certify thingy for everything nowadays.

Just don't be too stirred if Microsoft hasn't "certified"
the driver, even if it came out 20 years ago...
