Xbox 3 codename: Xenomorph!

the codename for the next generation Xbox that will replace the Xbox
360 in five or so years, is Xenomorph !

the GPU for Xenomorph is not yet in development but Microsoft has
extended its contract with ATI. this will not be announced until 2007.
Microsoft and ATI announced their partnership for Xbox2 (X360) in
2003.

however the CPU for Xenomorph *is* in development at IBM. the CPU
codename is not known but the architecture roadmap is pretty straight
forward. the Xenon CPU for Xbox 360 used 3 identical PowerPC cores.
the CPU for Xenomorph will use even more cores, and cores that are
somewhat more complex than the simplified PowerPC PPE cores in Xenon.
Microsoft has told IBM that they want the next CPU to have 10 times the
performance of the Cell CPU going into PS3, and 5-7 times the
performance of the current fastest Cell processor
(you will note that the PS3 Cell is a stripped down version with 7 out
of 8 SPEs working and a 3.2 GHz clockspeed, whereas the full-strength
Cell processor has 8 SPEs and a 4.6 GHz clock.

postings, Cyg-anus, but if it has even the slightest bit of
credibility, it means Micro$haft is acknowledging the xflop
three-shitty is a failure two months after it launched. A lot of people
are noting that the main problem with the xflop three-shitty is that it
had the PS2 as the target to beat, and it did manage to beat the PS2
technologically at the same time trying to copy several aspects of the
PS2. But, this 'news' means that xflop 3 is targeting the PS3 about the
time the PS4 is coming out. Very bizarre strategy there. Looking at the
Micro$haft clowns behind this operation, Ballmer, Allard and Moore, it
is becoming obvious that they have become mentally unhinged trying to
compete with Sony on a technological and market level. They do look
like they reached the end of their productive careers a few years ago,
haven't a single original idea left and are left looking like babbling,
drooling idiots, much like the people that frequent the wasteland known
as a.g.v.x.
