Post subject: What does clicking on the mini-map do?

When I click on the mini-map, it puts a tiny circle with waves emanating out
from it where I clicked for about two or three seconds. What is the purpose
of this? I am trying to think of some situation in which that feature would
be useful.

I think all members of your party/raid see the signal. Useful for
pointing out mobs, veins/herbs, coordinating PvP, etc.
