The classic Empires2.icd error...

Hey,

I bought the AoK: Gold Edition today since my old aok cd
gave up. Now, the problem is that when i try to install it
the installation works fine, butwhen i start the game it
gives an error message:

ModVer: 0.14.22.712 Offset: 001fe3c1

AoK and TC used to run just fine on this comp, so i don't
know what's causing it now. I tried reinstalling and
restarting several times, but it keeps giving the
errormessage. I even copied the empires2.icd straight from
the disc into the user file, but even that doesn't help the
problem. I'm kinda clueless about what to do now.

I installed the TC expansion straight after the aok one,
i've read that this may give problems. However, i
uninstalled both and tried to run the AoK game after
reinstalling, but it doesn't work either. Is there perhaps
something in my temporary files that didn't get
uninstalled? I never saw the licence agreement, so perhaps
this is the prob. Help would be greatly appreciated...

p.s. i've read the other post about this error here, but it
didn't help me much, so i'm hoping someone has found a
solution in the meantime...
