I have completed the starter dungeon once and I'm going to repeat it
one more time to get a better feel for the combat and (hopefully) make
a better face.

So far, I think I'm liking magic the best, but I worry about it later
in the game. There are only eight hotkey slots - so basically 8 ready
spells. Otherwise, I guess you have to stop the game and enter the
cast menu which I could see getting irritating and boring after
awhile.

Does anyone who has gone further into the game have an opinion on
might vs. magic? Are you liking the fighting, casting or a mix the
best? I was thinking maybe a custom version of battlemage. I wanted
to do bows but I'm not having much luck. By the time the arrow fires
off the creature has charged me. Thanks.

I havn't gotten far in Oblivion but Morrowind and Daggerfall had
similar "restrictions" on the number of readilly avaialble spells and
it never bothered me a bit. 8 is actually a good number of spells
available at your fingertips.

And Sneak actually *works!* YAY! Smile

They also make poison work really well, too. I like that the game
naturally assumes if you use a damaging potion in the menu, its to be
applied to the arrow. Smile

Off the subject....How many people just *love* killing all the gobbys
with the falling log trap in the starter dungeon? Very Happy Ahh, the joys of
killing small humanoids....

You need to sneak - if you're stealthed when you shoot, you get a
multiply bonus - instand kills aren't unknown, and I normally take
them down to 70-80%. Then either switch to melee when they charge, or
follow up with some magic spells.

Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes !
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses !
And what's with all the carrots ?
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway ?
Bunnies ! Bunnies ! It must be BUNNIES !

You don't need to start all over again because just before you exit the
sewers, you'll get a message offering you to revise all your character
choices. Save your game at this point, and make sure you never delete it.
From this saved game, you can always create a completely new character and
start the game over with a new character concept.
