captured Cylon ship vs 4x minelaying

Post subject: captured Cylon ship vs 4x minelaying
Archived from groups: alt>games>vga-planets (more info?)

In Phost4, if another race captures a Cylon Troll Class minelayer, do
they get the 4x minelaying capability if crew replaced with the new
race? That is race specific, nothing to do with the ship right? Cylon
colonists in the cargo holds will not make a difference correct?

No, mine x4 mine laying is a race ability, captured colonists become your
'own'

Exactly. Just like in Tim's host. To be even more precise, each player
has his own UnitsPerTorpRate, and in theory, those can differ for all
races. UnitsPerTorpRate is a config thing, not a hull function that
changes ownership with the ship.

Ah, thanks for the info.

Odd though that captured colonists in the hold are transformed to

not... One of lifes little anomolies. Wink (Especially robots becoming
"humanoid". Wouldn't Commander Data like that!) Yet the crew of the

I would love to capture some Orions and put them to slave labor making
fighters in the holds of my Base Ships. (Get to work or taste this
cattle prod again! zzzzttttt! )
