Whoa! Easy Tiger! The Scout's scattergun is probably the most overpowered
gun in the whole game. It's said to be 'lethal at close range' but it's a
lot better at medium/long ranges than it ought to be. In TFC, scouts were
worse than useless; in TF2 they are one of the more popular classes on
certain maps.

As for bunny-hopping, I'm happy for scouts to do it - it's a vital defence
mechanism - but I still dont like it when other classes do it; I think all
classes apart from scouts should have some sort of penalty after jumping.
I've seen a few Soldiers BH'ing, but more noticeable have been the Demomen,
and I think it is by design - Demomen are all about 'nade spamming and
jumping about. The grenade launcher isn't a precision weapon, and Demo's are
often defensive roles, so just being an annoying and persistent adversary is
often their aim.

Oh, I'm going to have to delurk to take issue with that! Worse than useless?
They may have had very weak armament, but killing wasn't a scout's role.
Getting in fast, stealing flags and capping points was the scout's purpose in
life. Scouts were the game winners, the glory seekers, though of course they
needed the back-up of their well-armed comrades. That's what made TFC such a
great team game. I loved being a scout in TFC, mostly because it was a role I
could play well even though I can't hit the broad side of a barn Wink Far from
useless.

Can't vouch for how they perform in TF2, I haven't installed it yet. From what
I read, a scout with decent armament sounds like a very different playing style.
Stopping to circle-strafe an HWG?? There's no time for that! Run, man, run!!
Very Happy

Well that's an issue with the scout I found that might be changed later
is that the scout's 'scatter gun' it's called is so friggin powerful.
I don't usually go scout but I have taken out soldiers with it. You can
bounce around and move quicker than his rockets and 3 good shots he's done.

But nothing beats picking off a scout mid-air in 2Fort. Seem one leaping
across the bridge roof and took him out with a headshot. Of course more
luck than skill but it looked good. Smile
