Why I like this game :
This is a conversion of an arcade game called Chelnov. When I was at
university we had a Chelnov machine in the refrectory, and we played it to
death, mainly because it was there. I was very pleasantly suprised to see
that anyone bothered doing a conversion of this very obscure game, with some
enhanced graphics.
The appeal for me is thusly; nostalgia, and enjoyment of a nice simple game
format. There's not a lot to do with this game. You are force-scrolled
along, requiring you to jump, dodge, turn around and shoot the baddies, with
about 10 boss battles along the way. There is a choice of weaponry which
adds a small level of strategy, and tying to complete the game with one
weapon type only becomes a challenge, especially with the chain mace.

I've got this, and have played it for a bit. I like the whole "your guy
is, like, a 10th of the screen size thing" its got going, but I'm not
real thrilled with the forced movement.

Yeah, I agree....and once I get used to it I'm sure it won't be too
bad.

I do love the backgrounds, they did a great job with them. They seem to
really stand out...but I'm guessing that's due more to the fact that
the characters are only around 20 pixels high.

The real trick is learning to turn left/right instinctively.
