Armed Assault - When? - Just curious. Haven't heard peep about it. Been looking forward to it. Loved OpFlash to death, but just getting long in the tooth.

Multiplayer games - Hi there. I hope someone reads this and can help my out with some my advise. I Mai we are seven freinds who will meet for the first time for some LAN gaming. One of the games up for playing is OFP:Res version. Is there someone who can recommend me..

SWAT 4 - Picked up SWAT 4 because it was only $19.99. I figured I'd give it a look-see. The game never really attracted me. What a surprise! It's a great freakin' amazing how much I'm enjoying since I was never in it). I..

Cheat not work ofs - I already push shift + - but the console to type cheat code not out please help me thanks

inflame command not working - Hi! I'm making a new mission, and I want to put a burning fire on the map. So I put a fire and put This Inflame True in the init field. But everytime when I startup the mission I'm getting a operator error. Is my borked?..

Howdy.

Finally i got my hands on a working AA version that bypasses the starforce
protection, and i must admit that i find it quite entertaining and fun to
play, same as i did when i played OpF for the first time.

The graphics are really nice and the models are spot on, the game runs great
on my laptop (core duo 1.66, x1600 ati, 2 gb ram).

This is going to be a great weekend Very Happy.

Hehe i actually wrote just what you said here.....same experience, depends
how the gameplay and the creativity of the missions will play out i guess

uhm,

I thought better ... it is Ofp taken at our days with light make up, there
is not news, only graphics which is improved, but the one of Ofp sucked
very much...I waited a long time to play the same game

arma is not OFP. Has no feel like ofp. Doesn't have the same gameplay as OFP. In fact all it is a
eye candy game. I like graphics, but the gameplay sucks...
Not worth $40 USD...

This game is pretty buggy. Here are a list of bugs/unpolished features others came across:

1. You can still land helicopter upside down just like in OFP.
2. Flight model is twitchy and to sensitive or not enough at certain times. (even with joystick)
3. Radio commands are terrible and sound disjointed
4. Same as in OFP but they said would fix: Blood effects inconsistent (I shot a guy in the head and
his whole body becomes bloodied)
5. You can land copters on trees without damage
6. Tracers look like unconvincing lines
7. Same as in OFP but they said would fix: AI is terrible in closed spaces, sometimes in open (AI
drives into buildings, shooting an enemy's friend 10ft from him when he's looking away elicits no
response)
8. You can rotate a tank's gun into a building wall causing it to rotate its 80 ton body.
9. In certain graphical settings you'll get a .2-1s control/input lag
10. Some ppl experiencing sound lag
11. Blowing up bridges with vehicles over them cause the vehicles to hover in mid-air
12. Each time you bring up the map in ArmA you get a 'load screen' when you switch back. It's fairly
short load of perhaps 5 seconds. But this is a huge issue in CTI where you send AI all around the
map all the time.
13. Same as in OFP but they said would fix: Missile vs. fence = fence wins & not destoryed...
14. Sound FX are terrible, sound flat and unconvincing. Some cases recycled from OFP
15. Grass is nothing more than eye candy. You're at a disadvantage if you're a sniper prone in the
grass: Someone far off can see you since grass isn't rendered at far ranges but your view is
obstructed by grass.
16. Where is the animal life and bug life. Like they said they would have? I have seen one
seagull...
17. Zooming in Effect, with iron sights, why and not real...
18. The whole concept of the new ammo menu SUCKS! In OFP you move to ammo and get an action menu to
scroll through. In ArmA you have to open a window that takes you out of the game.
19. I havent found a way to put ammo to a vehicle.
20. Getting ammo off bodies or from crates is very hard. You have to move all over to find the right
spot if it doesnt pop up and dissapear. We have this problem with boats in OFP.
21. Combat movment issue with kneeling or prone. All moves are very casual not combat...
22. If your prone and try to crawl down a hill, you STAND UP?..
23. No 2 controler support for aircraft. (Pedals and a joystick.)
24. Three Hellfires to kill a T-72. Two to kill a BMP2. Bit unrealistic don't yeah think?
25. Some how AI players can walk through the underneath of bridges? you see there heads bobbing in
and out...
26. Missing Aircraft for US and Russian forces. Like NO Mig's or A-10's...
The list goes on, please add...

Some reviews I found and OFP original did better...

PC-Games: 78% (Bad AI and controls)
PC-Action:75%
Gamestar: 75%
PC Powerplay: 76%

When I say it won't be out. I mean for us regular folk. Not for Government and Military that's a
different thing all together...
So I very much doubt it will be out for us common folk...

the reason why I wasnt mad they were takign so long with the game is
because I wanted them to spend as much time and tweak the game so it
was as awesome as possible like the first one.

yet accodring to your review, all this time and its even buggier than
the original.

I like to think by the time it gets here in america it will be
adressed. but it bothers me it was realeased buggy to people across the
pond.

That sounds pretty piss poor. I will probably stick with VBS1 if half of what
you state is correct and not fixable as its a design decision. Hopefully if
VBS2 gets the go ahead for public release they won't make the same mistakes.

After been playing it for a day now i must admit that you are indeed right
(thank god i didn't delete OFP to make room for ArmA...).

Besides i have had 2 crashes with the good old Blue Screen of Death.....with
the game, has not happened at all with ANY other games i've played on the
laptop.

Yeah the sound is shitty, the commands sound like the windows 3.1 write what
to say program :S.

And after reading the list through i have decided NOT to spend my money on
that game. At least not until alot of patches have been released and alot of
the mistakes have been corrected, and maybe at that time the game is so old
that it will cost almost nothing! :S :S :S.....

ridiculous , even Hitler would have been able to place better the troops

neither a sentry to check from the high on the valley? and if a sniper came
to kill an Officer from a high rock ?)

Me and some other peps have been talking about ArmA, Hard Core OFPer's. They are not liking the
game. I can tend to agree with them.
All you have to do with OFP was change a few things. Give it a new graphics engine. Release it, let
us buy it & enjoy it...

fix all the bugs we know of in ofp.
You're done.

We already love OFP, you don't need to change it...
Hell if I could just take all the gameplay from OFP. Give it the new ArmA Graphics. Dang we would
have a nice edition to OFP (with all the bugs fixed of course)...

Well , I'm liking it, just wish my rig was better so I could play it at
normal settings with decent FPS. Enjoying working my way through the
campaign, of course the real test will come playing it online, can't wait to
try out CTI.
