Annoyingly, that must be your server. We've been chatting over there all
afternoon.
Best wishes

No, my error. It is alt.binaries.games.thesims. I just couldn't remember
it right off the bat. I had it subscribed, and it was fine yesterday. I
clicked on it, and got an error. I tried googling it, but it didn't work
out too well. No new posts, and it was horrible to look at.

Is your news server part of your ISP? Give them a call and complain. Ask
where it went. They might have decided to drop all binary groups. Have you
checked to see if other binary groups are still available on that server?

Yes, I still can access alt.binaries.games.the-sims-2, although nothing has
been posted, and I have the option to subscribe to others, but
alt.binaries.games.thesims is not one of them. The news server is part of
the ISP. I doubt calling would do any good. I think I recall others being
in the same situation, and their ISP's attitude was tuff cookies.

Many ISP's have taken that attitude because of the problems with
newsgroups in general and not being able to control content for their
subscribers. AOL dropped all newsgroup subscriptions several eyars ago
if IRC and many do not offer the service at all. I get the binaries
group through our cable ISP but carry a seperate Netscape account
becasue we have been mvoving around so much that I wanted consistent
mail addy's...but they have no newsgroup service at all unless you use
<shudder> Google groups... >> Stay informed about: alt.binaries.games.the-sims |

I know mine only has one binaries group in the listing - some game I've
never heard of! Must have been in the last 6 months - I swear I saw the
creatures binaries group there (but never a sims binaries). Damn slash &

What ISP are you using? Madame Mim and I both get sims binaries so both
Bigpond and Optus newsservers carry them.
