i have had some problems getting dve(1.40 or 2.01) to run on my
computer. i tried to install those on my girlfriends laptop too, and i
had no success either...i still have a very old dve from around 1998 on
my computer which seems to run flawlessly, so i wonder why those newer
downloads dont work?

is there somepiece of the puzzle that i am missing here?

i need dve for debugging some code, and would really be happy to get it
to run...

please help !! Wink

I am pretty sure DVE will only run on Windows 98, Windows 95, or DOS.
This means NT, 2000, or XP will not work. That is one of the main
reasons for the talk about upgrading.

I have tried almost everything to get it to run on Win2000 with poor
results. I even tried to run both VNC and pcAnywhere to a Win98 machine
and still it will not run properly. MESS with the debug option is the
best you can hope for right now if you are running a newer OS.

I tried a win98 virtual machine with VMware on my win2000 machine a few
years ago and it would not display the graphics properly. Did you have
to do anything special to get it to show the graphics correctly? Guess
I will have to try VMware again with just DOS.
