Which addon is it that shows you information about stuff in your bags when
you put the cursor on the item?

That has quit working for me and I need it badly.

What kind of information? A few quest addons tells if it is quest
items, auctioneer can tell auction house prices and vendor prices,
Pawn/Itemvalue/etc. can give a "benchmark" of the usefullness of
items.

Sounds like it's Mobinfo. They have updated versions for you to
try...but, again, that's just me guessing...

I only use a handful of addons so I'm not the expert on them...=P but
I do use Mobinfo...

I have solved some of the problems with addons -- but not all.

I disabled fubar and monkey quest and that solved some problems..my info
box on items in the bags is working again..not sure which addon is doing it
but it is working.

I can run basic cartographer with all sub-programs disabled and all is
fine, but when I enable the cartographer sub-programs I get a bunch of
errors about some .lua files on line 11 ( most of the time..sometimes other
line number ) and being registered twice.

I have no clue how to fix that except to leave all the sub-programs
disabled which takes a lot of info off the map.

I suspect you are thinking of Informant, which is bundled with Auctioneer.

You might also want to download EquipCompare, which compares items with what
you have currently equipped

The darndest stuff will cause problems sometimes. I was having a
similar problem - the tooltip wasn't coming up when I moused over an
item in my bags. The culprit turned out to be PickingSkill, which adds
the level of lockpicking skill one needs to open a locked box.

Informant works for me. It's part of Auctioneer.

Yes I think it is Informant ... I see that in the list of addons.
I also have EquipCompare. Those seem to be working ok now.

There is some problem with fubar and I had to disable it and some problems
with Cartographer sub programs and I have to disable them too.

Very aggravating to have these things breaking all the time.

There have been some problems with the Rock libraries that Fubar/PitBull
are based on (and somehow it was messing up cartographer as well). I
ended up downgrading to a previous version of both programs and
everything started working again. This was around 7am PST on 10/6, and
they may have resolved these issues by now.

Double-check your "addons" button on the toon selection screen. With
one of the recent patches, you may have to click the "enable out of date
addons" button (may not be the exact name, but close)to allow the addon
to still work.
