| Here's a YANI:
When you eat a horse it says "You eat the horse corpse. You must have
been hungry!"
from the old saying, "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse"

a "Apply what?"
x - uncursed blindfold
-> "You try to feel what's lying on the ground here"
"You're feeling a little horse."
Also, zapping a dead horse with a wand of polymorph might get you the much
ballyhood legendary horse feathers. >> Stay informed about: YANI - horse |

Oh hey, on horse feathers:
#apply dagger to horse feather
"you fashion a quill from your horse feather"
x - magic marker
Considering that one has to find a horse, and a polymorph wand (which
together might be about as rare as random magic markers just lying around),
then also kill the horse, and use up a charge on the wand. >> Stay informed about: YANI - horse |

PS: And did I mention horse corpses rot away? Polypiling that charge would
be a race for whatever's nearby.

What's more, a similar idiom exists in Finnish, and probably also in
many other languages, so people with non-English background could get it
right away. :>

There's already a horse related idiom implemented that has, I suppose,
a more limited cultural distribution; "Why beat a dead horse?".

except you could do this recursively (well, as long as your polymorph
source holds out, which in case of spells is ad infinitum, as long as
horses dong go extinct) to gain entirely too many magic markers?
each polymorph = 5 quills
each quill = 5 daggers + 5 horse corpses.
daggers are trivial to collect in large amounts.
5 horse corpses come from 5 horses.
5 horses come from 1 scroll of genocide
and you can easily squeeze 3 genocide scrolls from one marker
(usually).
maybe if you had to poly kracken corpses for the ink...
(this is a similar problem to slashem and gypsies) >> Stay informed about: YANI - horse |

There once was a valkyrie who ate a horse -
she's dead, of course!

AngleWyrm's original suggestion didn't mention the probability of
getting a feather from a horse corpse, but with the word "might" it
didn't seem definite. >> Stay informed about: YANI - horse |

You don't need five daggers. The dagger is used to fashion the quill out
of the horse feather.
Which brings up two questions:
1. Wouldn't knife be better tool to fashion the quill?
2. Where does the ink come from?
So, my suggested changes: require a knife and the magic marker is empty.

But you need the blank scrolls and if my suggestion is added you need a
scroll of charging (or the PYEC).
