Possibly you mean the Filterset.G autoupdater. I use it. It's also
possible to define custom rules that are added to G's lists, and
untouched by the update. Adblock Plus includes whitelist support, so
even with Filterset.G it's highly customisable.
I also have privoxy installed on Linux and Windows, but it's a bit of a
swine to configure, and won't collapse HTML ads afaics. Looks powerful
though, if enough time is spent on it.
Also, I believe Konqueror 3.5 includes adblocking, but I've not upgraded
from KDE 3.4 yet. In many ways I prefer Konq to Firefox.
