Post subject: YAFM Artifact guardians

Was playing yesterday, and on when I descended to third level of druid
dungeon I suddenly felt a surge of power. Since it also happened to be
a river level I started wandering if I'd get killed by the guardian, or
drown first. A dozen steps, a door or to and there i see, magnificent
view. <Named> cave lion.(forgot the name) . Since I failed to rescue
the puppy, I though 'Hey, maybe the lil girl wants a kitten now'?
So I gave him a corpse of a giant rat.
Moments later I was crawling on the floor unable to breathe.
"Why would I want your corpse of a giant rat? Do you know who I am?!?"
the kitten replyed. That answer alone did more damage than it's claws
which he didn't hesitate to use. After talking to the kitten some more,
I took the whirlwind and was on my way(to find my doom from a lightning
vortex beneath the dwarftown)
Unfortunately I didnt' take a save there, would be fun to see if I
could tame it with means other than food.
Was playing from dos, so couldn't copy/paste. Written from memory. Does
one of the adoms screenshot/history/etc keys grab messagebuffer? |

I once tamed a karmic lizard artifact guardian with music. Wasn't even too
hard, IIRC. I was playing a bard then, IIRC, so it could be different for

You should have just killed it. I guess you really want that ring...
however.
(I don't usually bother and just kill cats like crazy.) Speaking of
that ring, I
just have to ask...

....has anyone ever lost a character due to it exploding if they
