Yay, now I've ascended all the roles in 3.4.x vanilla Nethack.

The final role I had to push through the Dungeon was Rogue. Propably not
the most typical to be the last one to ascend.

After my Extinctionist, I had 10 unsuccessful rogues and 8 other random
characters my script gave me to get killed. Best of the rogues managed to
finish Sokoban and the Mines before got killed by a bolt of fire on dlvl
10.

The rogue number 11 had an uneventful start. To do something different
this time, I made a choice not to use any artifact weapons. Two +7
crysknives did the trick. Very Nice, I might add.

I didn't have MR nor reflection until I got a fountain wish for a GDSM
around 20k or so turns. This calculated risk was taken after an arch-lich
was detected at the Medusa's. Actually, before I got back down to
Medusa's, a b?Geno was used to get rid of Ls.

Castle wand was used for "Reflection (BoH from Sokoban), [Speed and =Lev.

After this, I was kitted enough to do the Quest. Blessed geno'ed n to
avoid the annoyance in the Quest. After I managed to get in the right part
of the Master Assasin's cave, he was a push over.

Found the VS on dlvl:44 and portal to Rodney on dlvl:41, but had to search
for Vlad a long time.

After Rodney fell to /Death, it was propably the fastest late game I've
ever had, atleast in real-time. I skipped exploring the Sanctum, had
[Displacement and =Conflict, used travel command a lot, and mysterious
force was very nice to me.

I didn't use conflict on Astral, displacement made traveling easy
enough. The second altar was the right one.

n - a blessed fireproof +5 pair of speed boots (being worn)
u - a blessed +4 Hawaiian shirt (being worn)
K - an uncursed rusty +0 dwarvish iron helm (being worn)
P - a blessed thoroughly burnt +4 cloak of displacement (being worn)
W - a blessed +4 gray dragon scale mail (being worn)
....
o - an uncursed oil lamp (lit) // no magic lamps

in BoH:
the rusty +0 Vorpal Blade // Found in the castle -> no worries on the
// Astral
the rustproof +0 Stormbringer // sacrafice gift

Median: 57373 moves

Highest AC: monk with -13 (helm of opposite alignment removed protection)
Lowest AC: extinctionist with -49 (no protection)

Lowest score: tournament wizard with 2828636 points
Highest score: extinctionist with 28753434 points


Next: a break from Nethack with some of the 28 David Attenborough DVDs I
recently bought

Next in Nethack: aim towards faster ascencions, a pacifist, a weaponless
vegan monk, illiterate, ...

Heh, nice. My rogue also did no-artifact (+6 silver saber and +4
silver dagger)

I like keeping the cloak slot open with this choice, but...

Did having only MC2 hurt at all? I think I went w/ a robe in mine.

Cool. I use jumping boots to get around there, I'll have to think
about displacement.

I think I got level drained once by a V, footrices nor green slime gave
no trouble. So I'd say it didn't hurt at all Smile.

YAAP - I've just successfully ascended an illiterate-genoless-polyless orcish barbarian. This is my second major conduct ascension, after a weaponless monk. I'm almost embarrassed to claim this one since the RNG was so kind to me. I got no less than six..
