Ok, well my brilliant vamp wizard which I posted about earlier who had
a full AK, knew and could cast pretty much every spell in the game
(around 35 different spells), and had a heap of other goodies...
basicly everything except for a AoLS which I never found, had a very
annoying death... something that in hindsight could have been
prevented, and wont happen in the future, however I still think that,
as its the first time, it would fall under anoying and not stupid.
Was doing a bit sacrificing on an alter littered with various items of
dead creatures using the create monster spell (which I also refer to as
create food / XP), and after doing this for a while, all was going
well... casted it once more and saw an 'I' under an item... figuring
its a snake or bug, I just go on and attack it "You hit it, You bite
it, you are turned to stone, DYWYPI". So bloody annoying! Im not even
sure what it was, as I havent plaed slashem for that long, but I think
I have once encountered a snake 'asphynx?' that can petrify you, so
that must have been it, hiding under an item. Whats even worse is that
I had an amulet versus stoning in my main inventory just in case I had
some bad luck with a trice, but as I bit it it was an insta death. (of
course I now know I should have either searched first to find out what
it was or just blasted it with a spell)
I know that vamps wont bite trices (and I guess asphynxs) when they
have been identified, but when there hiding I now know that vamps will
bite anything... so anoying, that was a certanty of being my first
slashem ascention!
