Post subject: Xbox 360 live and windows live subscriptions

Quick question, if i buy a xbox 360 12 month gold subscription card can i add
it to my windows live/ xbox live account? Reason im asking is that
technically they both seem to be the same thing and i read that if you have a
xbox live subscription it transffers to windows live.

Windows Live and Xbox Live are essentially the same network, so subscribing
to one automatically gives you access to the other, therefore current Xbox
Live Gold subscribers will get access to Games for Windows – Live Gold and
vice-versa. The pricing structure is identical.

Tanks for the response. This is nice, so i can buy a 12 month gold card from
amazon and use the code from that to upgrade my windows live silver to gold.

Correct. See http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/gettingstarted101.htm and if
you have any additional questions, contact Xbox Support (1-800-4MY-XBOX) and
let them guide you through the process. You can have all your achievements
by upgrading from the current Silver to Gold.
