Can anyone who has an XBox 360 tell me what it's like? I'm thinking of
getting one when GTA IV comes out and the only person I know who has one got
one of the first ones on the market so it's always going wrong. What are GTA
style games like on it? Are the graphics as good as everyone says?

Saints Row is a great game in the GTA style. The graphics look very nice on
HDTV, I've never played it on SDTV so I can't comment on that
(fortunately!). It's a nice system, if you're never had wireless
controllers before you'll really love them. The achievement system is nice,
for completing certain objectives in games you get an "award" that is
recorded on the net for all your friends to see.

I've been very happy with mine. Spend some time on Gamerankings.com reading
reviews of various games as it's the games that make the system.

I got my system in December (a week before Christmas) & I haven't had any
problems with it at all.

Yea well they're normal to me, so nyah-nyah! Wink

But seriously, the 360 controller is actually smaller than the PS2 one
and so doesn't fit quite as comfy IMO. I shall get used to it
(hopefully).

the 360 pad beats the PS2 pad hands down on all fronts.

it has decent analogue control for a start. Smile

ah, that would help, though I still generally hate triggers... what
have they done about those?

I second that, although the Gamecube controller is pretty good.

It's a shame it doesn't have more shoulder buttons, some games have
unnecessary complicated controls as a result.

I just found that i could switch to classic buttons on the first two
GTA, so I am quite happy with those, and I can use the triggers on San
andreas, I just hate them. Only other game I had to use them on with
no choice was NFS most wanted, which did not improve my enjoyment of
the game.

This was the let down for the smaller xbox control Shoulder buttons
instead of triggers and I may have been happier, though I do like its
sticks when they don't seem to be, er, sticking.

well youre the only person i've heard criticise the thing because it
has triggers. they give you far more precise control than the ps2's
analogue shoulder buttons ever could.

I like the pad and the shoulder buttons, the only thing that hurts my
brain is that driving games use them for accelerating (fine), shooting
games use them for firing (again, fine), but when you games like
Saints Row or where you can drive and shoot, my head gets confused!

I have never liked them. I wouldn't say i was a fan of analogue at
all, it was, in fact, quite recently that i really started to use
them... maybe even san andreas, though I had dabbled before once or
twice. I can now use the triggers, but there are some things I just
can't get the hang of with them. The good thing about using them on SA
is that I'm starting to use the brake one, the left, and that was
something I found hard with Most Wanted.

This could all be something to do with my mental state, or the fact
that my co-ordination has never been brilliant... I even crashed my
mate's Honda 50cc when i was a lad by confusing throttle and brake!
:O)

This has been the problem I'm finding with the GTA xbox selection, the
button positioning just doesn't seem to work as naturally. Of course
I've played the games to death on ps2 so my mind is searching for easy
answers. I am fed up of shooting at people instead of jumping, stuff
like that
