I have no idea. I'm not sure if the hard drive is going to really be a
factor in RROD. I believe the problem is caused by the way certain
components are soldered onto the motherboard or something along those
lines.
Improper ventilation could most definitely be a factor in RROD but
some people subscribe to the theory that no matter what, any given
Xbox 360 will fail at some point no matter how well you take care of
it.
Who knows? Everyone I know (well, except that one guy) has had not
problems yet.
