It's a repair icon/pickup - restores your vehicle to full 'health'. (I
guess any mod that uses the map editor could have 'em in there, along
with the nitrous pickups.)

As to doing that loop - I'm not much for stunts, really, but there's
some races in MTA:SA where you've got to do that stuff, and I've been
surprised at how little run-up you need with, for example, the
Sanchez, to 'stick' in a pretty good-sized loop. So, I wouldn't write
that one off as a cheat. (MTA doesn't mess with the physics engine, to
my knowledge.)

The only wrenches I can remember are in the San Fierro Arena's car
mission "Blood Bowl". They repair your car.

VC had them too I think, or am I thinking of Destruction Derby?

It's Multi Theft Auto (MTA)
The wrenches are health pickups.
After you've played MTA for a while, you *do* get that good. :]

I can attest to that. I've been playing MTA all too often, and yes, you
can do crazy driving/stunts after awhile. I never even knew you could
pitch the car up/down during a jump. I'm now able to land jumps better
on all fours.

I can now recover out of a bad landing that would otherwise flip your
car. The worst is barrel rolls.

I've done more two-wheel unintentional driving than I've done in all GTA
single player sessions.

It is a crazy game platform.

I still hate the stuntplane.
