Heh, I have a Gaymond story too...when I was younger and naive about
rare arcade games, I traded to Gaymond a sit down version of Space War
and a mint mini Tempest cabaret for a blue Computer Space. Please bear
in mind that I had no idea that the sit down Space War game was only 1
of 3 known to exist. I came across it easily, I already had two other
versions of the game (sit down version, Cinematronics upright version,
Atari Orbit b/w raster game) and I wanted a Computer Space! So I made
the deal. DOH! Of course, Gaymond knew how rare that game was
because he came all the way from So. Cal to No. Cal to get it
and brought the Computer Space with him.
The Tempest mini was nothing to sneeze at either. I pulled it out of a
operators warehouse, had about 120 clicks on the meter and was minty
in every facet. I LV2000 kit and it was up and running again.
Oh well...live and learn - and I DID!
Regards,
Tom
