Two Worlds .. demo even - Any comments from the RPGers ? The of 2W were hired by Jowood to do Gothic 4, after they split from PBytes. There's a demo which I will get down tomorrow. Kind of wondering if 2W can do the job, and meet the standards of Gothic 3 as far as..

Might and Magic Worlds of Xeen under Win 98 - I KNOW it'll run. I used to have it working, but I've forgotten how. Anybody know? My Windows is running with the FAT32 file system and it might not have been the last time I had Xeen working.

Obsidian decides to kill persistant worlds for NWN2 - It appears that Obsidian has decided to kill PWs for NWN2 be requiring that players download and maintain the full module to be able to play on it. This mean, of course, that all players will be able to take apart the module to see where are the secrets..

Unable to reinstall game - Hi, I recently installed a game without a problem. I then got an external hard drive and decided that I would reinstall the game onto that hard drive. I deleted all of the game's files in the program files folder. I then inserted the cd into the drive.

Unable to apply Gothic 3 cheats via console - When I activate the console in G3 by pressing ~tilda key, the console's graphics are all messed up looking - kind of weird blotchy black lump at top of screen, and so when I type, I don't see anything appear, and basically I can't get any cheat codes to..

I'm a big fan of RPG's such as Oblivion, and the Gothic series
(although they can be buggy as hell and a little difficult to
configure to run smoothly)- anyway, I thought Two Worlds looked like a
good one to try. I guess it's pretty famous for video and audio
problems on anything except brand new machines or Fresh installs of
windows XP . Has anyone here had any luck getting the sound to work in
the game?
My Machine-
Asus motherboard with AMD64 3500 running at 2.2 Ghz
2 gigbyte RAM (approved for this board)
Nvidia 8500 GTS w/512Mb
Audigy2 sound

Oblivion and Gothic3 run smoothly and no problems of any kind with the
machine- no crashes, hangups,.... stable system.
However, I am unable to update my DirectX. Dxdiag says I have v9.0c
which is what Two Worlds requires, but, when I try to update with the
version that comes with the game, I get an internal error and it
fails.

Was there a problem playing without updating DirectX? I rarely use the
version that comes with games - usually it's a good bit older than what MS
has on their site.

There's no sound in the game. Actually, there's sound in the intro
scenes, but once the game itself loads, there's no sounds at all-
environment, music, speech, nothing. I tried the latest DirectX from
the Microsoft website- it gives me the same failure error as the
version on the disk does.
When I google the problem, I find most folks fix it by re-installing
DirectX 9.0c which is included on the disk with the game. I suspect
there's a problem with my DirectX on my machine- although all my other
games run just fine.
I'm running XP Pro with SP2 and all automatic updates installed.
