Hopefully this is useful to some of y'all...

I've just finished writing what I hope is a useful article about
designing religions in a fantasy game. It is available at:
http://inkwellideas.com/?page_id=27 or by going to http://inkwellideas.com/
and looking for the link.

It covers relationships between multiple religions in a world,
monotheism vs. polytheism (pantheons) vs. atheism, relationships
between deities, a deity's area of influence and personality, creating
mythic stories to add depth to a religion, tweaking game rules for
specific faiths and other ways religion adds color to a campaign.

Constructive criticism is welcome here, in comments on the site or
through email. Thanks!

There is now a companion article which creates two religions as
examples. Here's the link: http://inkwellideas.com/?page_id=29
or go to http://inkwellideas.com/ and look for the worldbuilding
articles.

The articles are mostly (if not completely) edition/rpg rules neutral.
Topics covered are: relationships between multiple religions in a
world, monotheism vs. polytheism (pantheons) vs. atheism,
relationships between deities, a deity's area of influence and
personality, creating mythic stories to add depth to a religion,
tweaking game rules for specific faiths and other ways religion adds
color to a campaign.

Thanks again!
