Hey guys..

Investigated the add-on issue, and got a few working again. (Equipcompare
anyone??)

Check out www.murlocguide.com - I posted the workaround there, as well as a
list of addons I have tried that worked, versus those that didn't. I would
appreciate anyone else that tries and fails or succeeds to post a comment
listing their addons as well..

Nice to have some of the old standbys working again, though.. whew... At
least it will get me through until the addon updates all come out. Smile

Itemrack works.. except it doesn't auto-load the profiles.. but you can
still switch between items like before. Works great for me. Smile

I thought the functionality of Decurse was broke for ever.

Atlas and CT Raid assist have been updated.

http://ui.worldofwar.net - for atlas and atlas loot
http://www.ctmod.net - for CTRA

Please, your fix is not. Without the need to do what you are
recommending people to do, they could just check the box that reads
"Load out of date Addons", on the addons screen, before entering the
world on your client. *This is a _very_ poor, half ass fix*. The latest
patch just have way too many changes on the scripting side on the
client.

Some developers have provided updated addons, but mostly are really
lacking (although the PTRs has been around for a while with a version
of this current patch). Titan Panel 3 is out and it works fine. But
lots of addons are gone, it seems, forever.

I don't think that this works. I tried it on the PTR and it didn't
call the add-ons out of date it called them incompatible.

I agree with that. Smile

Ok, gave it a try.
No luck with CTraid assist, Auctioneer, Enchantrix, Atlas, decursive, cast
time, party quests, allinoneinventory, GEM, Khaos.

So I guess my raiding is going to be somewhat restricted for a while.

Correct, it didn't load them on PTR. Reason being the language changed
so much they need to actually be updated. In practice they might be a
way to tag them as updated, ie change the comments, but I don't know
how.

I will post one as soon as the website(s) come back up. They are
suffering the "Tuesday Patch" effect.

Oddly enough, there is a new version of Detox I think it was available
(Decursive replacement) - god knows what it does, mind, since, as you
rightly say, mods will no longer be able to sort of actively scan in combat
for a person with debuff y and allow you to spam this macro only on them.

Anyway, CT Raid is horrendous - get oRA2! Wink

Actually... you are incorrect. Checking the 'load out of date addons'
no longer works. That will only work down to version 2 now. Anything
previously will never be loaded. This is why, on SOME addons, this fix
works fine. On others, it won't work, and I have already said that. I
*KNOW* it is a 'half ass' fix.. In fact, it is just a work around until
the developers release an update.. Not once on that page do I state
that it is permanent, or guaranteed.. just that it works for me on some
addons.

Don't like the workaround? Don't use it. I don't really care. I just
found something that works for some, and posted. No need for you to
bring negativity into this...

My Atlas is working fine with this workaround. Make sure you are also
doing this to all of the dependencies as well.

I have used the "workaround' on each single patch the changes version,
don't get me wrong. As a few of you well point out, it might bring
those *simple* addons "back to life."

I wasn't negative, I was just stating it is a half ass job, for most
part. I forgot to add that while some addons might just load by
changing the version number, that might not work or mess with other
things in a really bad way. And there will be the cryings --at Blizzard
mainly-- because things are not working, but 'they used to work', etc
(add the cry here). In other words, you are tempting your luck, really.

And to finish, I am sorry if I offended you. I really am. My apologies.

That does not work in this case. The addons are not shown as
out-of-date, they are shown as incompatible and the 'load out of
date addons' option has no effect on them.

>*This is a _very_ poor, half ass fix*. The latest

Depends on your addons. This simple change to the 'Interface' line
got three simple addons that I've been using for years working
(FreeBagSlots, QuestLevels, HideClassBar) and they all work quite
happily. More complex add-ons are more likely to have issues with
the language changes, of course.

With a new version of CTRA available and development alpha versions
of Auctioneer and Informant available that are compatible, I've got
all my essential addons working.

The only one I don't have working is Group Buttons, but I don't
currently need it as neither of my current 'main' characters are
healers. When the expansion arrives I'm planning to start a new
priest, so if I can't find a replacement for it at that point, I'll
just have to hack Group Buttons until I get enough of it working. Smile

Oh, and I don't have a compatible version of Gatherer yet either,
but I don't class that one as essential.
