Make a check list. Do you have everyhing required by your sims? Also how is
your city laid out? Do they all have to take the same road to work or are
there multiple routes? How is your city beautification? I usually have to
spend bookahs of money on trees and parks, even on small towns. Have you
enacted all the right ordinances? listen to your advisors if anything is
wrong they will tell you.

Some MySims get stuck in this rut, and won't be able to find a way to their
job no matter how many times they try. It has to do with a disparity in the
standard traffic pathfinding engine and the one used for automatia.
Relocating the MySim to a new house, or simply evicting and re-adding them,
tends to resolve this issue.

You might want to post your save game (somewhere in alt.binaries.*), then
post the link here. Someone could check it out for you.

Without further information, here's what my crystal ball said:
1. If your sims are complaining about jobs... are there any jobs available?
Are there any shops, factories or farms?
2. If there are shops and factories, do they have sufficient power?
3. Are there "no-road" zots on the sims' houses? (Zoom in while zoning...
there're direction arrows on residental zones. The arrow must connect to a
road for sims to travel. And yes, sims will settle on zones without road
connection, then complain about it)
4. Job types and education level. Sims with high level of education won't do
lowly jobs in factories. Do the jobs and sims match?

Thanks ... I'll try that ... lol

Still I think I'm missing something .... because I never got a city more
than 250,000 which only happened 2 times one of them is a pollution hell
and the other has all the work in small neighboring cities.

I never did find a good way to implement parks and gardens .... all my
space goes for building !! .. but I do leave 2 spaces next to a road so that
I can turn it into an avenue when thing get bad ... so if I used that space
at the beginning for a few parks .. they will be demolished when the avenue
replaces the street .

Also it helps if you plant Trees in your parks, and along side the roads and
anywhere you have free space.

I found this to happen with $$$ wealth, and only when I have overdeveloped
(negative demand). I usually just blow up the house, they move somewhere
else, and everything is OK.
