So after having my Orks handed their collective green asses I thought it
was time for a heavy hitter. As always, there's nothing cooler than a
Warboss on a bike, especially a Warboss with a powerklaw.

I give you Warboss Skargob Dakkagraba of the Death Skulls.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/Hive_Tyrant/40K/New%20Orks/PDRM0696.jpg

He rides a 4 Barrel V8 powered kustom beaky job that his Mekboyz did up
for him for the ultimate in speed. Magazine fed old skool Dakka gunz and
the latest in Orky front end teknology make it handle.

Obviously not finished but enough there for you to get the idea. Left to
do is fix the control arm, add some more gubbinz and a grot on the
Bosspole to represent an attack squig, and some chains, spikes and
blades. The plan is to attach the rear wheel but leave the front unglued
so I can make him pop a wheelie when he turbo boosts.

See all the pics here:

The list just needs more Rokkits. Lots more.

Mechanically, it looks to need gusseting at the triple crown.
Love the base.

Skullz . . .

Real Bikers don't pop wheelies with the frame heeled-over like that.
If you want the Bike to ride high, first straighten out the geometry.
A straight frame will swivel on the rear axle and balance well.
To get the wheelie pose just right, consider adding drag bars aft.
They needn't be as exaggerated as these:

But, you get the idea.
Consider a metal pin for the rear axle, too.

I've had a bunch of chopper conversions that didn't work out.
Good luck with yours.

Needs a bigger headlight "werez I going?"

An I would use a bigger rear wheel. The front looks good but gets to
small in the back. When making a wheelie there should be some "optical
weight" in the back to compensate the V8 IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned, this is still a WIP and I plan on
putting a bosspole, some ammo boxes and other gubbinz on the rear deck
over the wheel to weight the back a bit and build it up optically. The
biker rear wheel was a conscious decision not only to use bitz I already
have but to tie the bike into the looted theme the army is going for.

Besides as anyone who rides high power sport bikes knows, the only thing
needed for wheelies is lots of torque, a thing the V8 certainly has in
abundance.

Suggesting an Ork would have the foresight to think about the need for a
headlight is laughable. This is the Warboss and he's more concerned with
letting everyone who sees the front know it's Da DeafSkulz comin' to
krump 'em. The skull insignia was the primary consideration in the
choice of front end plates.

Working on an alternate list that will have a few more. Think buggies
and deffkoptas. Fits with the looted theme too. I don't want to tool to
beating Space Marines and then land in a sea of Tyranids so there will
still be an emphasis on shooting lots of shots.

The triple is actually rock solid. I took a new Ork bike and hacked it
off in front of the motor and glued it to the block of the V8 where the
water pump would be. It's pretty sturdy, even dropped it a few times and
it's solid as a rock!

Thanks for the kind words on the base. The base is a WFB regiment base
with two slotta base halves glued on the ends. I hacked the WFB slopes
off and the inside of the slotta provided enough land to glue to. Just
needs some texture and a few skulls now. Wink

Oh yes. There will be Skullz and a couple of beaky heads too.

I've seen a few MotoGP races where they have wheelied out of a corner
still on the sides of the tire... pretty damned impressive actually (and
I'll bet hair raising for the rider). Modern tires are getting amazing
in their traction capabilities. You could not have done that ten years ago.

Thanks for the advice. He'll mostly be flat and layed over maybe just a
little less than you see in the pics. The rear wheel is enough of a
friction fit that once you pull the bike up it just stays. The heaviest
part of the bike is the guns on the side and they are pretty low. I
won't need to pull much of a wheelie, as the bike is so long a little
will go a long way. Just want a visual representation of Turbo Boost.

Oops. A minor jargon conflict. Maybe it's a regional U.S. thing?

"Popping" a wheelie implies dumping the clutch from a standstill.
Bikes with off-road tires and ice spikes, like Skargob's, can do
that.

A "slingshot" wheelie is possible only under certain conditions.
One of these conditions is a life-affirming amount of traction.
That's where 'knobbies' and ice skags will let you down.

Literally.

Pla - Orky Bikers would still do it, though - ya

Decided the Warboss was looking a little weedy... so I hacked up a
perfectly good Warboss figure and made him fit the bike. Also the Klaw
was looking a little weak, so it got replaced with the PK from Ghazzie.
