Well, I suppose there won't be any Asian hobbit flying in the air and
camera pans a la Matrix....

Is this going to be good or bad?

Well, despite the dwarf tossing and weepy Frodo and the lack of Tom
Bombadil and the barrow-downs and the lack of the reading of the "not all
that is gold glitters" letter, etc. I think Peter Jackson did an admirable
job of getting the LotR to the screen. If a decent director can be found
or if we just wait for PJ to direct it himself, I think he'll do a good
job with the Hobbit too.

Don't know who will be cast as Bilbo though. Don't know if two movies
really means they're just thinking of splitting the Hobbit into two movies
or what they would use for the sequel otherwise.

Why? After all it?s "There" and "Back again" even in the title of the
book Wink
Considering how many movies it took just to display a fedex quest of
throwing a small ring into the abyss two seems not too many.
In Ultima that would have been just one Ultima game for a skull, a book
and a bell into the abyss - but he needed 3 movies just for a small ring...

Except now it's not Sam Raimi. It looks now like it will be Guillermo
Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Blade 2) who will be directing.
