Jason and Rose have a plant child, Daisy... I changed Daisy back from a plant
sim to a regular sim, then I cheated her to a child so she could grow up normal
and go to college.
Jason and Rose then had a normal son, Nathan, then I let Rose have another plant
spore child, Delilly, that grew up and had spore Donald, and he grew up and had
spore Coralie... (all in a week!)
So now there are 4 generations of plant sims, (it confused the start up screen
so it didn't show the last toddler).
Now I want some of them or maybe all of them to become normal, so I started by
curing Coralie to normal and making her a toddler...
Her parent, grand parent, and great grandparent are plant sims...
Would there be problems in the game if I start changing and re-aging other
plants in the family, so that a parent might be a toddler parent to a teen child
or other weirdness?
Or does the game family tree ignore actual age cheats.
Right now the family is plausible... but the next plant sim I turn into a child
will be a parent to someone maybe older... or will be a toddler parent...
(Have I confused the heck out of everyone?)

BTW plant sims have no life - they pillow fight and play the piano all day,
never sleeping or eating or eliminating... it's getting real boring... >> Stay informed about: Wondering about age cheat... |

I don't think aging them down will affect the family trees - I shouldn't
think the game really recognises relative ages or have a rule about a parent
being older than a child. What's shown in the family trees and relationship
panel is just files in the game that are linked in certain ways. Although
it is a game that is a life simulator, don't imagine that all the normal
rules that govern our lives also govern theirs. Sims have to be adults to
give birth but there's not necessarily any rule that says they have to stay
adults once the child is born.
When you say you are curing them of being a plantsim, you are using the
potion are you? You can age plantsims down to child without the potion and
they will appear normal but this is because there is no plantsim skin for
the child and teen stages. Once they age back up to adult they become plant
sims again. At least, I think that's how it works.
Anyway, Maxis introduced the age sims cheat to the players knowing full well
that people would age all sorts of sims back to childhood and so on so I'm
pretty sure aging down parents isn't going to be a problem.
Best wishes

In my game Rose and her husband (can't remember his name right now) have 5-6
plant children and a few other of their own non-plant children.
I kinda like that the plant kids inherit all their parents skill points.
I had 4 of them drink the potion to become normal and they moved out.
One of the girls is married to a normal Sim. I'm trying to get her pregnant.
I want to see what the children are going to look like!?
