Elaine Chase wrote about this kind of thing in an "Ask Wizards" on the
magicthegathering.com site recently. We have a group of about 20 regular
casual players here at the University in York, and that includes about
6 women. I could theorise a great many issues that act as barriers to
professional Magic playing, and I'm sure there would be some disagreement
on whether they're real barriers, perceived barriers, stereotypes and
so on. I might have to mention the question at our weekly game and see
what the boys and girls think.
