Surprisingly enough, I actually used to regularly read AGNP. I think I
may have posted a few times, and for a while, I had my own PW!
character.
Anyone who may remember me probably remembered me under the nickname
of "Icehawk78".
Honestly, none of that is very important, unless you (whoever you are,
reading this message) wanted to know who I am. The main reason I'm
posting is cause I finally broke down and bought both a DS and Pokemon
Diamond. So naturally, since the WiFi-ness enables people to actually
play against each other, I want to partake in this. Unfortunately, the
only other person who I know who plays this is rather terrible at
battling on an even level (i.e. when she hasn't got a significant
level advantage).
Therefore, I'd like to branch into one of the places I'm *sure* has
decent, if not outright exceptionally good battlers. So, fellow AGNP-
ers, feel free to post your friend codes and/or screen names on here
(IM helps when arranging battles so that there aren't time-zone issues
or other timing issues that would end up with someone being stuck
waiting in a PokeCenter for an hour). If there has already been an
effort to do this which has gotten buried and thus consequently
ignored by me because I'm too dumb/lazy to read below the front page.
Perhaps if there's a better way of reading the group other than
through Google Groups, I should get that, since Google Groups doesn't
seem to bump recently-replied-to topics to the front page.
Obviously, I'll start:
Game Name: Icey La
Friend Code: 2191 5025 7070
---------------------------------------------
To make it easy, I'll even provide a handy Copy/Paste empty form in
the same format as mine, even though it isn't that difficult:
Game Name:
Friend Code:
---------------------------------------------
I'll likely add anyone who replies to this thread unless they
specifically say that they have not added me. >> Stay informed about: [D/P] WiFi Friends and other tomfoolery |

Really? You should rejoin! I've come back for the first time in two or
three years ...

Nick?! Dear lord! That puts my two or three years in perspective! I'd
barely just joined when you were last active!

Hey, returning AGNPers are always welcome. As are newbies, but it's nice
when you know your newbies from your oldies.

Mine's in my sig. I'm in the UK, in terms of time zone, and my Pokémon
team's on :L35. I've got MSN (my e-mail address is the one I'm posting
from).

Actually, it does. The group's been pretty quiet lately, though, which is
why there aren't as many posts as you'd have expected.
By now, Usenet's hard to come by. For the record, I found Google Groups a
pretty decent way of checking the group - better than most web-based
browsers anyway.

Added. My Friend Code's in my sig - feel free to add it. My name's
Steffan, but I'm not sure it matters whether you get the name right or not.
> I'll likely add anyone who replies to this thread unless they

Welcome back to the group, mate. I'm pretty sure that, if you rejoined the
PW!, it'll break the previous record of length between two posts.
(I love the idea of breaking PW! records. I'm going for "longest space of
time between creation of WG and scene of capturing a Pokémon", since my
character Karl's been around since May 2001 and has never caught a Pokémon
"on-screen".)

That's very cool. I used Trillian for a while, but grew frustrated
with its limitations compared to (my personal favourite messenger)
MSN. And by "limitations", I mean "I want my font to be bold, blue
Verdana". Although the IRC function was nice.

Hahahaha!
It hasn't been around yet. It's the new medium in development by
Cerulean Studios for the new version of Trillian that is currently in
development. I was lucky enough to be selected for alpha testing, and
it is quite nice. However, unless there are any AGNP/Trillian
crossover members, then I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here who will
have access to it.

Oo.. thank you, I can't get out of the house much so I use this kind of
thing a lot. I used to use trillian till my old 'puter went bang,(well fizz
really,) and never got round to re-installing it because my partner prefers
seperate programmes but I would love to try this out. I've applied for a
spot but can't imagine getting one.

Well if you don't mind my partner and I would like to add you would like
to add you, our numbers are.
Ted 3995 3827 8566
Lucy 1719 0502 3256
I play pearl and Lucy has diamond so as I offered to Steffan in the "I'm
back again" thread we would be happy to breed the exclusives if you require
them and we have a spiritomb if you would like one.

You won't likely get a spot in the Alpha. For right now, pretty much
only paying customers of the current Pro version are likely to get
into the Alpha. Sorry to dash your hopes.
Personally, I'd say your best bet would be to try downloading the
Trillian 3.1 Basic, and see if you like the interface. It's come quite
a ways over the years.

I'm at work, so I'll have to add them when I get home, so I'll do that
once I'm home (around 5:30 PM EST)

The starters would be handy to have, if you're offering. For
Spiritomb, I actually know someone else who lives near me, so I'm
planning on catching that all on my own. One other that would be
useful would be a Ditto, if you're far enough to have the National Dex
and have caught one.

As far as I know, current versions of Trillian do support this. >> Stay informed about: [D/P] WiFi Friends and other tomfoolery |

I think I will, I didn't get think I would get into the alpha but I've
been involved in the beta testing for a few things now, fingers crossed
and all that,(stoopid arthritis.)

I'm in England so G.M.T. time applies although to be honest I am
probably awake at the same time as you.

No problem, I'll breed some starters for you, let me know what
names/sexes you would like and when it would be convinient for you to
trade them and I'll do what I can. I've just got to the league and
levelling up so the national dex isn't going to be far away. I'll get my
gilfriend to breed you at least one so you can have extra numbers in the
lottery, as per Steffans suggestion.

Veilstione Department Store gives you a free ticket every day. From right
to left, you want to match as many numbers as possible to the digits in the
trainer ID of any of your Pokémon. Top prize is a Master Ball. I seem to
come third a lot, and earn extra Exp. Shares.

Urgh, 4th sucks. I haven't actually won anything in DP yet - my third prize
streak comes from GSC and RS.
(Haha, I just tried, and believe it or not, came 4th. Teaches me for
slagging it off!)
