Yes, but it was tedious.
Maybe someone else can help with an easier way to do this.
<If not interested in the CS skip to the end. No biggie>
Since I was curious, I messed around with the "shield" spell since that puts
a bubble around the player.
My attempt would probably make for a "dirty" mod though.... (Spellcasters
would also lose their "bubble" not just enchanted items.)
----------
In Photoshop, delete contents of "VFX_<effectname>.tga"-- so that its blank.
In the CS, go under "magic effects" & look for the particle texture file
associated "shield" & also its "Area Effects Visual" (scroll menu where you
choose "VFX_effectname" for that spell.) Change the VFX particle texture
files so they have nothing to display (blank).
Made a test enchantment (constant shield 50%) & put it on a bonemold
cuirass.
In game testing of cuirass had no player bubble. Yay!
It still had the stars though. Would probably have to go back, find the
files for the stars, etc. etc.
So it *is* possible to turn off bubbles, but maybe someone else knows of an
easier way?

LOL
I like the Lawrence Welk comparison! That's going back a ways.
Anyway please post if you find a mod-- I'm sure there's got to be an easier
way than what I did.
thx
