This was what I thought was gonna be another Quicksilver Messanger
Service quest before work. Of course I head too far south and have to
kill one of those level 24 raptors then make a scramble back to the
road. Especially after I noticed that the raptor pulled a Jurassic Park
3 and called for help.
Then I find the excavation site and walk on in figuring I was gonna see
a little gold bauble on my mini-map and walk up to the person and get
me an easy 500 XP.
Holy $#!t!!! That place was crawling with raptors!! Talk about Godzilla
babies in the Madison square Garden.
Try to work my way around looking for a shiny bauble on the mini-map.
That's a no-go Houston. One battle later with a tough cantankerous
Veloci-Raptorial Dino and noticing I have another quest in my log
called Onmer's Revenge which encompasses killing raptors, I come to
realize that there ain't gonna be no shiny bauble, probably gonna just
be a corpse on the ground that I have to crank the gear shaft and note
that someone's loved one is dead at the site.
I really love this game and all the surprises I run into.
Like that time last week when I headed up a road across the street from
Raven Hill and got chased outta there by an invisible Defias gal who
kept yelling at my warrior to stop looking at her chestal features.
Great game!!
I don't regret my journey to the World of WoW (redundancy prevails)
OH! OH! OH!

So do I. But the longer you play, the better you know you're way around
and most of the quests.
So, the surprizes get less frequent. Not all bad, though.
First time around in Duskwood, after that damn eremit at the Raven Hill
Cemetary sent me back to Darkshire for the umpteenth time I started
cursing him at length (Why does he have to live on the other side of the
map when he need stuff from town all the time?). I must have used up
three pairs of boots running around for that fellow....
Since it is a RP-realm, no problem there.
So after yelling at him for a few minutes I noticed I had attracted a
small crowd...
Got to be quite nice rp after that....
But now, fourth time around, you don't walk that much. Three times back
and forth and basically all mayor quests and quest-lines in Duskwood are
history, with the exception of the unfamous three: Mor'Ladim, Morbent
Fell and that skeleton lady at the grave.
So, being new, there are quite a few surprises and laughs. But once
you've been there, it goes a whole lot faster...
And - since almost nobody really does all the quests - sometimes you
actually find a new one. If you are lucky even one you can laugh about...

To get to town from Raven Hill, it's a bit faster to run over to
Sentinel Hill in Westfall and fly back.

Yeah. I know that now. But I didn't know then. An even this time, I did
not use that option often. Because on the way are quite a few iron ore
sites....
So what I basically did was mining while traveling, this way doing about
three to four quests per way AND getting ores...

Tip for others in Duskwood - it's much faster to fly from Darkshire
to Sentinel Hill in Westfall and then run across the river to Raven
Hill, than it is to run all the way across Duskwood.
