If I lay a web mine in the identity of an ally:-

will an enemy ship stop when it hits mine?
will an enemy ship recieve 10% damage ?
will an enemy ship lose fuel?

If I lay a small web mine in the identity of an enemy on top of my own
larger webmine

will my my own web mine explode causing a net loss of my own web ?

thanx

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

But they won't suffer the 25kt drain per turn in non-Tholian web fields.

No. Unless "AllowMinesDestroyWebs" is set to "yes".

"
Webmines belonging to races other than the Crystals do not drain ships
of fuel as long as the ship does not hit a web during flight. The
Crystalline people themselves are immune to the effect of all webmines,
regardless of who owns the webmine and if that race is an ally of the
Crystallines or not.

Well. 10% of the damage a normal mine would do. That is a 100kt ship
would receive 10% of damage, a 20kt ship 50% of damage and a 1000kt ship
1% of damage.

Ingo

Once a ship hits the mine, it does whatever the minefield type requests.
For a web field, this means it has to stop, lose fuel and take 10% mine
hit damage.

A difference between THost and PHost is that in HOST Crystals never hit
web mines, whereas in PHost the usual rules apply.

If I read that correctly, this THost requires "Allow Mines Destroy Webs"
to be enabled for that. PHost just needs AllowMinesDestroyMines; the
AllowMinesDestroyWebs setting affects only normal<->web interactions,
not interactions between fields of the same type.

Hmm. I wonder if there is a bug, or maybe there used to be. I've only
once played in a game where webs were laid in non-Tholian form, by the
Tholians for their Gorn allies, and they didn't seem to affect any
ships at all. Nobody ever hit a Gorn web mine. They did get swept/
scooped as normal, but that's it.
