"And it came to pass that in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch
king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of
Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboim, and the king of
Bela, which is Zoar.

All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt
sea."

- Genesis, Chapter 14

I want to build a Sodomite army for Warhammer Ancient Battles.

Sodomites aren't in the established army lists for WH Ancients, so some
creativity is needed. According to Genesis, Sodom flourished in Abraham's
day. Conventional dating puts the Age of the Biblical Patriarchs about 2000
BC, the Middle Bronze Age. At that time and in that place, I imagine Sodom
as an early Amorite city-state, with its army influenced by the
Sumerian/Akkadian model of early Mesopotamia.

For instance, 2000 BC is too early for chariots, but the Sodomites could
have had Sumerian style battle carts, drawn by onagars. There were
wild asses in Sodomite territory, and I suppose the Sodomite army would have
put those asses to use.

Does anyone have any other ideas about what kinds of units would be
plausible for a Sodomite army list for WAB?

Any suggestions for suitable 28mm figures? I hear Copplestone may be adding
Sodomites to their Back of Beyond range. There are rumors of a release of
"Sodomite Scouts in Kneeling and Prone Positions". Does anyone have a link
to photos?

I'd also appreciate advice about how to mount my Sodomites.

Thanks loads.

Oh come on, tell us you aren't setting us up for all sorts of stuff that
will get this newsgroup pulled off the air. I've come up with a dozen
unclean thoughts in the last 30 seconds.

Look at Syrian City States. That is essentially what they are.

Tell me again that this isn't a secret fantasy. I could have pulled this
off a porno site.

Oh, you are bad! Really really bad. For photos, just do a google search
for photo+sodomy. Also look for figures bending over.

Wrong list. Wargamers don't get laid. Bad place for advice. Rumor has it
that they get mounted in the rear.

4000 years ago, you didn't have horses suitable for riding. At least that
sort of riding that is suitable for combat. Onager driven straddle wagons
would not be found in actual combat. Too slow! So, a city state might have
some camels, a few bows, lots of hairy men in multicolor dresses with pointy
sticks and farm implements. Few if any swords - metal is too difficult to
cast for peasents. Very little real organizations.

Could you have been thinner in your intent?

Now, are you sure those Sodomite didn't have cavalry? I heard they
were double-mounted, with two men per ass.

Hmmm... So the Sodomites used Wild Asses and liked to attack rear style....
