It isn't something you really need to look for though. A warrior is always
going have a solid amount of +strength on his/her gear without even trying
to. It's just a matter of priority. A protection warrior should take an
item with stamina over an item with just strength.

To each his own I guess. I leveled my warrior to his mid 60's protection
spec'd.

Um, that's only 7%. Is your speed of levelling *that*
important?

Noone is saying you cant, people have levellled hunters without using ranged
weapons and warriors without weapons but with fists, but is it efficient?
No!
You can level protection and another can start from the same lvl but
arms/fury, if you both start from 60 he will be 70 and you 65 max with the
same playtime, and with the right gear he can do a great job in instances.
Where you really want a prot warrior is heroic till then 15 pts in prot is
more than enough.

If they were both starting from level 1 it would be 7%. But the OP
specifically said they were both starting from level 60, which is a
100% difference.

*shrug*

My warrior went from 60 to 70 in about three weeks after launch on limited
playing time. It didn't seem that inefficient to me. I did switch to fury
for the last couple of levels, but it didn't make that big of a difference.
The only character in my guild that hit 70 faster than me was a hunter.

Cranking out massive damage isn't the key to leveling fast. It's using your
head and maximizing the amount of experience you earn. You're not going to
level to 70 with a protection warrior by grinding. However if you rely on
questing and rested xp, its not all that different from any other class.

If you're relying on rested xp, you're not leveling at top speed by any
means.

Actually there is some, just not a lot... seems I logged my warrior off in
my tank gear whenever the armory last updated so check
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Draenor&n=Cathach - only a
little defence but still, 3 items with it on, all usable in the 20s.

Check out the imba block from that shield btw, even 7 lvls above its
minimum level it gives me almost 5% block; it was nearer 10% when I was at
lvl 23. Just a shame I've never actually tanked anything yet...

My druid wasn't critted by a mob when tanking in 6 month, how do you explain
that ? A lot of luck ? :p
