Ordered it from Play.

Anyone got it/played it yet? First impressions?

It's OK.

A lot of the new stuff I'd already encountered via other
mods.

The Great Wall of China is a nice wonder, not just because
it prevents barbarians from entering you terriory, but
because it's permanantly placed on the world map.

Civs now how their own unique building too. It's just the
same building everyone else had but with a bonus.

You can have great generals, interesting thing is that you
can 'attach' it to a unit. That unit can then gain upgrades
it otherwise could not get (such as +50% experience) - also
whenever you attach a general, it distributes 20exp to units
in the same stack.

Theres a some new scenarios to play, one of which allows you
to play the barbarians - the aim being complete distruction.
You get gold for everything you destroy which you can use to
buy more units.

There's more I just can't think of right now.

The barbarian stuff sounds pretty interesting, I've wished for this for a
long time. How does it work with different tribes? Do you control all of
them? And do they share world view and the like? How do you buy units - in
a barbarian camp?

You have a barbarian camp, which is effectively a unit that
you can move like any other (but is weak and will be
defeated in battle which is game over)

By hitting F4 you go to the unit buying screen.

Here you can buy units and upgrades for those units.

The bought units are placed on the same square as your
'camp' - You also get to use these units on the same turn
you buy them.

You don't ever have any cities of your own, you task is one
of pure destruction.

I wasn't exactly diappointed, because I knew from the reviews what to
expect. The new leader traits and special buildings are fun, and the Great
Wall is as glorious as every reviewer said, but basically, this is an
extension pack for warmongers and scenario players. I am looking forward to
the next extension pack for more satisfying additions and tweaks. Above all,
I want to get away from that really enervating barbarian music on the games
menu, and the silly image of the barbarian waving his thingie (the one he
thrusts into people).

The Great Wall is, well... great. Great movie, Great looking wall on the
map, Great what it does, and Great that you can see it from space!

Now you have to let the mouse pointer rest on the leader image. I find the
change a bit irritating too.
